By using resumekit.dev ("the Site"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you should not use the Site.
1. Service Description
ResumeKit provides free, browser-based tools for creating career documents: resumes, cover letters, CVs, professional reference sheets, LinkedIn summaries, resignation letters, thank you letters, and a resume keyword analyzer. All tools run locally in your browser — we do not process your documents on a server.
2. Your Content, Your Property
Every document you create with ResumeKit belongs entirely to you. We claim no ownership, license, or rights of any kind over your resumes, cover letters, or any other content generated through our tools. You are free to use, share, print, upload, or modify your documents in any way you choose. Since everything is processed locally, we never even have a copy.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use ResumeKit for its intended purpose: creating legitimate career and professional documents. You must not use our tools to generate fraudulent credentials, fabricate employment history, or create documents intended to deceive employers or institutions. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of the information you include in your documents.
4. No Professional Advice
ResumeKit provides document formatting and structuring tools. We do not offer career counseling, legal advice, or employment guarantees. Our templates and suggestions are based on general best practices, but every job market and industry has different expectations. We recommend tailoring your documents to each specific opportunity and, when needed, consulting with a career professional.
5. Keyword Analyzer Disclaimer
The Resume Keyword Analyzer compares your resume text against a job description to identify matching and missing keywords. This analysis is algorithmic and informational — it does not guarantee that optimizing for specific keywords will result in passing an applicant tracking system (ATS) or receiving an interview. Hiring processes vary widely and depend on many factors beyond keyword matching.
6. Template Licensing
The document templates, layouts, and formatting styles provided by ResumeKit are licensed for your personal and professional use. You may use them to create documents for yourself or for others. You may not resell, redistribute, or republish the templates themselves as a standalone product or as part of a competing service.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and its tools are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no promises that the tools will be error-free, continuously available, or that generated documents will meet any specific standard. We do not warrant that using our tools will result in employment, interviews, or any particular outcome.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, ResumeKit and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Site, including but not limited to lost job opportunities, formatting errors in exported documents, or data lost due to browser issues. Since our tools are free, our total liability is limited to zero dollars.
9. Advertising
ResumeKit displays ads via Google AdSense to cover operating costs. Ad content is managed by Google and is not endorsed by ResumeKit. We are not responsible for the products or services advertised.
10. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Updated terms become effective upon posting. Your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of any changes.

These terms are governed by applicable law, and any disputes will be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction.
